Thanks for the link to the red light flashlight. My Dad gave me a set of inexpensive headlamps that have a Red light feature that I used for Aurora and commet photography recently. Being able to not have to wait for one's eyes to adjust from white light is great.
On a slightly different subject I have some good results with Lomography Red Scale, though I’ve only used it in daylight. You seem to have inspired a future experiment!
